Returning to God’s Glow

Walking back into church today after over a month away was incredible! Just going into the door always calms me down. (Hey, I wonder how they would feel about me sitting and knitting my sweater on the couch in the cafe in front of the fire? hmmmmmm…..) I love my church family! It amazes me that God has brought these phenomenal people into my life. People who lift me up, set me straight, love me where I am at. People who need me like I need them.

I have been so crazy for so long, that I didn’t even realize that I had stepped out of God’s presence, and into my own world. I’m not saying that I have “strayed” or become less of a Christian. What I am saying is that today when I got to the church, I felt my glow returning. I’m someone who is crazy-in-love with God. My week includes volunteering at church on Tuesday, bringing my teens and their friends to  Impact (our church’s youth group) on Wednesday and then head off to an adult bible study, Thursday I have a women’s bible study, and Sunday we do church (and sometimes we watch my husband play with the worship team). Meantime, with all of my driving around in the car, I love my xm radio, and listen to contemporary christian music. When I do all of these things, I am sooooooo much more nice, my heart feels happy, I am FAR more patient… Did I mention nicer?… and I feel like I am glowing with His light.

(Reading all of this, I can see how some might think I am a tad over the top. My opinion is that everyone has their own quota of what they need in their lives. I need a lot! I have a busy life, with LOTS of stress, and this keeps me sane.)

ANYWAYS… Walking back into church today after over a month away was incredible! I feel like I have my purpose back.

Not over the top at all. And your husband is on the praise team? Instrument? I SO enjoy reading things like this – thank you. 🙂

My husband plays drums, but not for the praise team. He’s afraid he’d be too loud. 🙂
