A Strong Finish and a New Beginning

So, *drumroll please* …….. Here she is: My Iced Cardigan

I absolutely adore it! I made it 6 inches longer than the pattern called for, and the sleeves are 5 inches longer. Also, I made the center fronts 8″ instead of 6 1/2″ because I wanted them to drape down. The original pattern called for buttons and for it to be overlapped. It was truly the simplest, and quickest, knit I have ever done. The pattern included very simple instructions on how to make short rows. They came out so clean. This is definitely a great go-to weekend sweater, and is now a wonderful addition to my wardrobe.

Now on to my next project… I printed this pattern out after seeing it done over at House on Hill Road. The February Lady Sweater (found free on Ravelry) has been waiting for almost a year for the right yarn to come along. And now we have it – at the end of summer, our local yarn store was having a clearance sale – and my mom showed up with a bag of this fabulous celery green Debbie Bliss Eco Cotton as a surprise for me. Free pattern + Gifted Yarn = my brand new Lady Sweater… Now I am off to cast on!

It’s gonna be a stash-buster winter! How’s your stash looking?
